The pictures in this gallery show the Commemorative Garden that was created in 2016/2017 by local residents and funded by the Parish Council with contributions from LCC and Wyre Councils. The principal objectives for the Garden, which is located on land adjacent to St. Mary's School in Smithy Lane, were to provide a place where people could sit and consider the sacrifices made on their behalf by those who played their part in the two major conflicts of the 20th Century, the Great War of 1914-18 and WW2 1939-45 and in all others since those terrible events. It is not intended as a Memorial as we have a Memorial Hall and another important War Memorial in Smithy Lane. It is for the the purpose of Commemorating the lives of all who made a contribution to give others freedom and liberty. Please take the opportunity to visit and enjoy some quiet moments there.
